Portrait of American philanthropist and conservationist Laurance S. Rockefeller (1910 - 2004) in the Virgin Islands, ca. 1961. Rockefeller recently donated 5,000 acres of land in the Virgin Islands to the National Park Service in order to create a new national park, and for the past three years has been the chairman of the Outdoor Recreation Resources Review Commission.
