American department store heir Alfred Bloomingdale (1916 - 1982) (seated center right) and his wife Betsy Bloomingdale (center, in white, sleeveless gown) host a 'Little Black Tie' dinner (for 14 guests) at their Holmby Hills estate, Los Angeles, California, October 29, 1959. Mrs Bloomingdale wears a dress by Sophie and jewels designed by Harry Winston and Bill Ruser. Among the guests are Fran Stark (in yellow dress by Irene), Meryle Paglia (second left, kneeling), Sheila Shay (center, in blue & green Cassini dress), Betty Bell (standing center right, in black and red dress), and Natalie Fewel (extreme right, in pink dress by Nettie Rosenstein).
