Artist's Description

Cover featuring a portrait of American aeronautical engineer Burt Rutan as he aims a paper airplane while standing in front of White Knight, a spacecraft launcher, Mojave, California. Rutan designed White Knight as part of 'Tier One,' his successful attempt to make the first privately funded human spaceflight, which was aboard the Rutan-designed SpaceShipOne (itself carried to launch height by White Knight).
