College basketball player Dick Groat (#10) of Duke University drives to the basket in action against Temple University, Durham, North Carolina, December 1, 1951. Groat was a two-time All-American at Duke and a first round NBA draft pick in 1952. A rare two-sport athlete, he played only one season with the Fort Wayne Pistons before giving up basketball to concentrate on baseball. Groat went on to win two World Series and the National League MVP award.
